Voice. Story. Transformation.

Find Your Voice. Own Your Story.

Meet Shalisa Jones

I am a writer that explores silence, survival, and transformation through lived experience.

The Scars They Couldn't See is a deeply personal memoir reflecting on hidden trauma, emotional suppression, and the journey of learning to speak after years of silence.

Through writing, I seek to turn pain into language, and silence into understanding.

This is not just a story of what was endured - it is a story of what was reclaimed.

Where voice is reclaimed, stories are told, and healing becomes something shared.

Finding My Voice Through Silence (Ages 5 - 18)

Before there were words, there was silence - shaped by trauma, hidden behind smiles, and carried while showing up for everyone else. This part of the journey reflects a childhood where pain often went unseen and a voice slowly faded. Yet beneath it all, resilience was forming. This is where the story begins - the quiet space where identity was shaped, and where the voice, though buried, was never fully lost.

Learning to Speak After Being Silenced (Ages 18 - 33)

Silence doesn't end when childhood does - it follows, shaping choices, relationships, and self-worth. This second part steps into adulthood, through college, breaking points, and the weight of living disconnected from your own voice. But it's also where everything begins to shift. Through faith, healing, and deep self-discovery, the voice that was once buried starts to rise. Not all at once, and not without struggle - but with truth, strength, and intention. This is the transformation: from surviving in silence to finally being heard.
